Nancy O'Dell's initial work in the industry of broadcast was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She worked later as a morning news anchor at WCBD TV and acted as a crime reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax response of the police to DUI instances in Charleston led to an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new policy from state officials regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell's work in Charleston has led to her serving as co-anchor, investigative report as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV.
